The Cottages host meetings, team building events and directors retreats for many companies from all over the country. Our central location with easy access to motorways via the A50 mean that no where is too far away. East Midlands airport is less than half an hour away with Manchester and Birmingham airports less than an hour. Derby railway station is half an hour away with direct trains from London.

 

The rural setting makes it a perfect venue to have a meeting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Organisers have said that delegates achieve more than at the standard hotel venue and the large communal areas where everyone can get together make the team building activities far more successful. The cottages are on 150 acres of rolling Derbyshire countryside, bring your wellies and go for a long walk to clear your head and take in the fresh air and exercise, traffic free apart from you may see an occasional tractor working in the fields

If you have time we can organise a guided walk ( about 40mins, bring your walking boots) across farmland and quiet lanes to a pub for lunch and organise a minibus for your return to the cottages. There is large flat lawned area where outdoor team building activities and challenges can be held which we are able to organise for you, also outside is a hard tennis court with floodlights, you will need to provide your own racquets and balls.

 

If you prefer to stay indoors there is pool or snooker table in each property for team competitions, the snooker table in the Farmhouse is a full sized , the other properties have smaller tables. Or we can organise cocktail making, a cookery demonstration or a Pilates session for your group.

If additional activities are required several can be arranged to take place away from the cottages such as clay pidgeon shooting ( 10 mins away) , golf (15 mins) or raft building and other water activities at Carsington water (1 hour away). These are just a sample, there are many more.

 

Catering for every occasion, breakfast, lunch and dinner can be supplied as and when required. Many groups do part self catering but order lunch so as not to disrupt the meetings with food preparation. Several groups have used the evening meal as part of the team building, splitting into smaller groups to have a ready-steady-cook type competition. The cottages vary in size and we can accommodate groups ranging from 4 to 50 sharing rooms (31 rooms in total) but not sharing beds.
